Our tutor is David Batty, David has been working as a software developer for 32 years and has been teaching courses defined as Computer Studies, Computer Science, Computing or ICT, for 23 years. David was one of the ‘Bedroom Programmer’ success stories of the 1980’s (earning over £100,000 a year from a bedroom in the late 80’s) and has continued the same work ever since.
David is a qualified teacher and programmer, has QTLS, Cert Ed and City & Guilds 7307 teaching qualifications. He delivers teacher CPD courses to teachers on weekdays and is happy to deliver courses on weekends too. David also delivers night school courses and after school classes for Teachers, Schoolchildren, G&T’s and Support Staff.
Evening and weekend residential courses taught by David have include Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Games Design, Visual Basic, Microsoft Office, Online Safety, Internet Marketing, Build A Computer and many other subjects.
David is a technical reviewer for Apress (a technical reviewer is someone tasked with highlighting any errors or omissions made by authors) so spends some of his time examining programming code and checking book contents for the author to make corrections or amendments prior to publication.
David is also a tutor for the AQA and Westminster Briefing, where he delivers training to UK IT teachers looking to learn programming skills for delivery in the classroom.
David is a lead tutor at Techcamp in the UK, delivering Games Design training to children aged 8 to 17.
